The Formal Opening of the Carlton Cricket Academy

  The formal opening of the Carlton Cricket Academy, our second sports Academy following the opening of the Boxing Academy last January. As with the Boxing Academy, this is in partnership with a prominent local club (Salem Athletic), and hopes to enhance wider participation, healthy lifestyles, elite player development, as well as creating  ‘champion mind-sets’.  It will operate on week days (after 6pm) and weekends. Samsung VR bus for the students to experience life in space

On Thursday 7th December Carlton Bolling had the opportunity to welcome the Samsung VR bus for the students to experience life in space.  This event was to mark the voyage of Tim Peake to the international space station and back.  The Samsung bus allowed students to experience the descent in the Soyuz capsule in virtual reality without leaving the comfort of their seats.  Students explored the science of space on board the ISS and took part in the interactive and immersive 360° experience. Students Travel by ‘Google Expeditions’

On Tuesday 25th April we had the pleasure of welcoming Google into the school to help deliver virtual reality fieldtrips for over 300 students.  With Google Expeditions, teachers can take students on immersive trips to destinations across the globe, in just one 30 minute session, students were taken to Rio, Sao Paulo, Venice, the North Pole and even underneath the sea to the Coral Reef in Australia.
